Hostelworld reaches 10 million bookings

An article in Silicon Republic says that Hostelworld.com has reached 10 million bookings:

Some interesting numbers to count:

Up to 2004 January, there was 896000 bookings,
Up to 2005 January, 1848000, so almost 1.000.000 bookings in 2004,
Up to 2006 January, 3878000 bookings, means 2.030.000 bookings in 2005,
Up to 2007 January, 6030500 bookings, as 2.152.500 bookings in 2006,
Up to 2008 January, 8795500 bookings, so 2.765.000 bookings in 2007.

So what do you think about their figures in 2008??? Will they reach 3.000.000? :cool:

I rather think it is HW's turn on the market which made different people arriving to hostels. In order to get more cash, they preferred to bite into the bum of expedia kinda stuff...

Just log on to your inbox and check your bookings at every 1st January... Each booking has it's own individual number, right? :cool:

So up to day, my last booking number was around 10084900 (exact reservation numbers are private ;) ), which comparing to the first one on 1st January (around 8795500) the difference is 1,289,400 bookings, which they have by now. If I apply the average stat as 5/12 months, they suppose to have 3,094,560 bookings by the end of the year... If their bookings are linear. If weighted, then it could be more...
