If your hostel moves what happens to your OTA listings?

Have you ever changed you hostel's location? What happened with YOUR listings on the various OTAs? Did you keep your old reviews? Did you have to start over from zero?

I have heard stories from different hostels stating that they received very different answers to the same question. Some were told that since the location has its own score, all the old reviews would have to be sacrificed. Other hostels told me they were allowed to keep their old reviews.

The same thing seems to happen if the hostel changes owners. Some hostels get to keep the old scores, and some have to start over as if the hostel were brand new.

For anyone going through this process it would be nice to have some documented instances to refer to when negotiating the change. If you have gone through this process, please share your story.
