I'd like to get all of your thoughts on the impact of the declining value of the Euro vs the Dollar. I'm an owner of a large hostel in Chicago and I'm a little concerned that it is now more expensive for Europeans to travel and stay with us. Our prices just went up about 20% without changing our prices.
However, my theory is that even though less Europeans will travel to the US, we will probably get as many guests as some European travelers will downgrade from a hotel to a hostel.
What do all of you European hostel owners think? Will you see more Americans now that European travel is now essentially "on sale" for us?

I'm wondering about this too. The euro is cheaper, but flights seem much more expensive. I think $850 was normal for a cheap summer flight in 2008. Now a search on Kayak.com (like from NYC to Rome) turns up prices starting at $1200+.
