Jugaadus' Eco hostel is an ECO Backpackers Hostel in the Holy City Amritsar, India as a Cheap/Clean and Fun alternate to Traditional Hotels/Guesthouses. The Owner of the Hostel(Sanjay Sodhi) is a backpacker who travelled around Europe and India to Gather Ideas for the perfect Hostel. "Jugaad" is a very famous word in India, Which Means A Hack and Jugaadu is a Person who loves Life Hacks. The Theme of the hostel is to introduce hacks into the hostel to Keep the Budget low/Keep the carbon Emission Low and Help people know about Punjabi Culture. Punjab is Known For its Hospitality and the main mission of this place is to show tourists in Amritsar the traditional hospitality.
We have Tried to make this hostel as Organic/Green as possible. The Mattresses and furnishings are made of 100% Organic Cotton/Rubber, bamboo wiring Panels for wiring, Coffee Tables Made of Recycled Tyres. Most of the furniture made of Natural Materials and a no plastic(only recycled) unless absolutely Required Policy.
There are 4 Bedrooms with 4,6,6, and 8 Beds Respectively with one 6 bed dorm as Female Dorm. THere is a common kitchen, 2 Open Terraces and a Fully Automatic Washing machine to do laundry. The common room is airconditioned as well. There is art on 1 Wall in Each of the 4 rooms and a City map on the wall in the common Room. We have a Terrace where Guests are allowed to Make art and Play Music.
About 1 Km (10-12 Mins walk) Away from the Golden temple. From Golden Temple, Walk to Sultanwind Gate, From Sultanwind Gate, Walk about 200 meters on Sultanwind Road and turn on the Road Opposite to Muthoot Finance. About 70 meters walk from the turn, The Hostel is Upstairs next to Salon 16.
4.5 Kms from the Railway Station, Tuktuk Charge should be about 50-80 Rupees. 2.5 Kms from Bus Stand, Expect to Pay 20-50 Rupees by RIchshaw and 50 Rupees by TUKTUK. There are public Transport Buses (Route number 2) 2 mins walking distance From the Hostel which Drop/Pick you at bus Stand, Railway Station as well as In Front of Golden temple parking Charging less than 10 Rupees Per Ride.
