I went to the opening ceremony of Abergavenny hostel.
I have mentioned it here indirectly in the discussion of the definition of a hostel.
It doesnt have dorms. Single travellers are put in a room on their own. But they dont get charged any more. But the charge of £24 incl breakfast is way above that of other hostels (other than London). They do meals, and there is no self-catering kitchen. There are common areas with TVs. It caters mainly for groups, although this is not a problem as they are housed in a separate wing and only share the meal facilities.
Unfortunately I didnt know about the other one in town at the time.
