Are you doing anything for the Inauguration tomorrow?
Flying Pig mentioned in their blog that they're having an "EXTRA happy hour" at their downtown bar.
I was planning on going to go to DC for the Inauguration, but things were too busy here to make it down there.

Bravo Mr President - you brought a tear to my eye - even though I could only watch you through a fragmented BBC web broadcast - Greek TV was live but with simultaneous translation - my Greek is not that good yet - after 13 years! The sense of hope and expectation was so real - I have not experienced the same feeling since the the JFK inauguration - now that dates me!

I saw it on TV, and it was most impressive. But I would not really have liked to be there, because 'there' would have meant being halfway along the Mall watching it on TV screens anyway!
Yes, speech was as impressive as Kennedy's. I do feel that he is fully sincere in what he wants to do. Mind you, probably Bush was sincere in his own mind about what HE wanted to do. Strange, I don't remember anything about Bush's inauguration or speech. ;) It will be good to feel that we are going along the same path as America again -- but then, the PEOPLE of Britain probably always were going along the same path as the PEOPLE of America.
I thought the religious part was a bit overdone. But then, Bush overdid the religion throughout.
Just a trivial note: when my eldest son was born (in Honolulu), Obama was at High School just a few miles away.:cool:

I think the website is running Expression Engine CMS from Blue State Digital.
EDIT: the new WhiteHouse.gov site is running on ASP.NET. The barackobama.com and change.gov are using Expression Engine by BSD though.
EDIT: The designer for all the sites is the same, Matt Ipcar.

I don't think I watched any of Bush's speeches. I had to turn off the TV every time he opened his mouth :)

I am really happy that this man is where he is. I´m just holding my energy till I see some actions. Talking is there job, they have to convince everyone to get where they are, but making the decission, taking action and being against some important people...well, it takes a lot of courage that I hope Mr. Obama has.
