I started a little project a while back, but my aspirations got the better of me, and now, it's only a fraction of what I want it to be, and I can't maintain it. Essentially, I'm soft on the domain, and would like to see the project flourish, but I gotta let it go. My hope is that some one, or group, would like to take it on or refine it, so I don't just have to let it die completely. My goal was to make it a massive information hub, comprised mainly of links, for the "backpack" style traveler, and my intention was to only post recommendations made by myself or others from first-hand experience. I had imagined it could eventually become popular enough to sell travel related ad space... I have very little up in the way of specific recommendations (see Seattle, Costa Rica, Italy,... there are a few others), but what I did accomplish was to post a link to almost every country's tourism website, or to their TripAdvisor site, if they did not have their own site, with the exception of most of the Pacific Islands. To my knowledge, it is the largest compilation of such a kind.

No apologies needed Mariya. You're trying to give reliable information to backpackers about their destinations. That is hostel-relevant.
I know of several hostels that have discussed launching a similar project. They also had some trouble getting things going effectively, and ultimately they decided that other projects had to take priority.
Good luck finding the right people to pass the torch!
