I didn´t watch the entire debate, but there are obvious differences between the two.

That is America... if only most Americans knew how weird it is for us in Europe that they take their guns so seriously.

Good replies, but you've missed my point. My point was, that it's much more important what the candidates think about pacificm/making war, guns (ban them or promote them), economic policy etc, than whether they remembered the exact percentage of people who support something, or the details of what resulted from one of the hundred or so bills that they have voted on, or what Eisenhower said to Churchill. That article was only interested in the latter topics.

Yes of course, but don´t forget that the American electorate can hardly be called "civilized". They usually elect the guy who most resembles Genghis Khan. One has to be realistic. If Obama told them what he really thinks about gun control, gay marriage and abortion he wouldn not have gotten further in the primaries than Dennis Kucinich.

I have ethic principles, but I think it´s perfectly OK to lie to idiots if it´s for their own good. :D
