From the Guardian (print) today:
Michael O'Leary yesterday confirmed plans to charge for toilets on his aeroplanes within two years.
"We are serious about it".
"We are flying aircraft on an average flight time of one hour around Europe. What the hell do we need 3 toilets for?"
"If you get rid of 2 toilets you can get 6 seats on a 737."
The last 2 paras might make sense, but what has this to do with paying for use?
An average flight time of 1 hour? Plus the time going through the gate, waiting in the gate area with no toilets, waiting on the runway for Air Traffic to allow, taxiing at both ends, going through passport control? And an average of one hour means some flights are 2 to 4 hours?
