Selling our Hostel in Panama City
Hi Forum!
I am the owner of the "Panama Central - Premium Hostel" in Panama City, El Dorado. We started the hostel last year in October and everything worked out great. We are constantly booked out and just in half a year we became one of the most popular hostels here in Panama. Overall we enjoy the hostel life a lot but because of changes in my personal life, in future, I will spend more time as expected in Europe and it might be to complicated managing the hostel from abroad. But it is still an option for me if nobody wants to buy my business.
So lets see, for sell is not the land or the house. We are renting the place what allows to be flexible and take the hostel where ever you want to go in future.
So what is for sell:
1) Panama Central - Premium Hostel BRAND and MARKETING
This includes our Internet Booking Systems with companies like
Hostelworld.com, Hostelbookers.com etc. In fact check out our
guest reviews on Hostelworld to see our popularity:

Our website www.hostelpanamacentral.com, which has a
SEO-Report by XOVI of 96 %. If you don't know what that means,
just search for "hostel panama central" and you will see that Google ranks
us higher than any other hostel in Panama
If necessary I will coach the buyer to manage the booking systems and I can make
changes to the website if needed. I designed the website myself and I will also gladly support
the buyer with future online-updates and marketing.
2) Guests/Reservations. There are already a lots of reservations for the future.
You could say the hard work is done to make the hostel popular.
3) Furniture, not all you see on the photos (on the website), some items belong to the rented property.
But still a lot, for example a complete 8-Bed Dormitory with huge mattresses and a lot more. We bought everything new.
4) At last if needed I can recommend you and "handover" my reliable staff for
cleaning and cooking. They are doing a great job and finding good co-workers can
be really difficult in Panama.
If you are interested please write us to [email protected] or better visit us in El Dorado so we can talk about all the details.
Cheers,
Pascal

Hi David or DAi!
We figured out, that a year's profit would be $35.000,- for that price we would sell immediately. Everybody can also send us a PM with an offer and we decide later if we sell it to the highest bidder.
Cheers

Just a question:
Why are you not on TripAdvisor after all this time? Are you not operating with the proper paperwork/permits?

Just an answer and a question as well:
Yes we do work with the proper permits, what has that to do with tripadvisor?
And now, just a more detailed answer:
We never registered on tripadvisor because we are already constantly booked out and it is stressful to update the other different booking systems to avoid double bookings. We thought about it on the beginning but success came quickly with the first systems till we were at capacity. This is what we explained for example booking.com, they are asking us for month now to join their site. They even have sent us a representative who recommends a software which bundles all booking systems together, but why pay for that if you don't need it? Furthermore they charge the same as hostelworld, where we have already our dedicated customer support for being a top performer on their site. So you can say it is also a strategic decision.
However, some guests wrote reviews on tripadvisor about our place, you can see them under this link:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g294480-d7806566-Reviews-Panama_...
The second review might be a good example why you wouldn't like tripadvisor. They wrote us an untruthful comment, just to damage our reputation. On tripadvisor everybody can write about your place without having a reservation.
But hey, that's the internet, where everybody can write stuff just to annoy you, right pal?
