Shameless website promo - please explore!

I don't much like the black background

I totally agree... not that I do not like, is because it's not good to get attention of people, and is not the color if you want them to concentrate. White and other light ones are indicated for websites. But colors in side bars letter, images or something, but not in the reading part. I've studied about it at university, and I changed the color of my own from grey to white.

I also have my blog... in portuguese, but you can choose your language, by flags, and google translates!
It's running for more then a year and lately i'm getting 100 visits a day... what is not so bad for me, I was waiting to get none! :P
Is hard to make money with the blog, and a good think to do is to find a sponsor... what also hard to me since I talk bad about most of Brazilian airline companies, and travel agencies... but i might get something from the biggest travel agency of Brazil, because I got to know the owner (he lives in my complex! :) )

Hi Mariya - my opinion is that it's text heavy on home page and not convinced with the colour scheme as is a little off putting...sorry - being honest.
People surfing the net are fickle and you need something that will hold their attention, along with something a little unique/niche - something that makes you stand out from the crowd i guess.
As a side - great little project if offering the browser something new.I have had a quick look at your external links which don't seem to be 'affiliate' links for monitization..?? The site reminds me a little of the maninseat61 train site, which is very text heavy - but has made a financial success of it due to mass affiliate links. You should do this also.Keep up ther good work!
I have a little project of my own at the moment - mapping hostel video reviews on google maps - pulled from youtube for geographical display - currently doing the UK and London almost completed. Please feel free to comment on mine:)

so my post was in response to this - but also offering website design comments (which all else have done).
I find your comment puzzling/laughable "Unlike you're we're not selling anything."
...as this is a 'Hostel Management' site...all pertains to someone selling something - also this entire thread relates to hostel websites - if we are not 'hostel managers' we are not allowed on here?!! - wind yer neck in.

calm down before you burst a blood vessel. this forum is 'off topic' firstly, and was started by somone wanting advise on their travel guide website, all other posts were constructive and even other travel websites were posted, my post was in keeping with all these and no different. i am not selling anything -and certainly not to hostels, their owners or managers - so your comments would suggest you havent even looked at my site. i am not selling maps...giving them away for free...my site uses google maps as a platform to promote hostels via video clips either taken by 3rd parties, the hostels themselves or by travellers who have stayed there.this has not been done "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages ago" in fact i welcome any examples you can give of where this has been done before.
so no "dirt work" being done here and not getting "us hard working hostels managers to do it for you". again your coments baffling...
congratulations on being able to look up site registration details...c'mon - get a grip. if you want to waste your time doing this - feel free, will not make the slightest difference to anything i do as am not looking to work in, run or own a hostel, so take your schoolboy threats and invest your time more wisely in running your hostel (if that is in fact what you do..)...or are you looking to buy..? (from other forums you have posted on..)..or are you both? who cares.
if you cant offer anything constructive in this forum i suggest you "shut up"...and go and put the kettle on.
