Starting up in Portugal

:eek: Scary stuff right? Starting your first hostel.

My partner and I are looking for a property in Portugal, somewhere not too urban, hopefully near a surf and fishing spot, and of course, somewhere attractie to guests. We think that 250k€ will get us somewhere we can start a little project or buy out an existing one for a little more.

The way I see it, the first step is the property, because once we have found the ideal property, we can choose to invest in a franchise or build our own or buy an existing hostel. They all have pros and cons so I am really un-decided. I would like to hear about what other people have done and how you feel about your decisions.
