This forum that you are looking at now is something that I put online quickly, just to keep the site from being offline for a longer period of time. I'm looking for suggestions about how to improve the new forum and make it better than the old one.
If you have any thoughts or feedback about specific things I could change to make it better, please post below.
For example:
Do you prefer threads like this, where the profiles are on the left side of the posts?

...or should I try to put the profiles back on top of each of the posts?
Should I leave the sidebar on the right in the forum, or make the posts full width?
(I thought it would be useful to have the search box in the sidebar, as well as some links, but I could move it.)
Do you have any other suggestions?
I'm working as quickly as possible to get the design fixed up and fill in some missing features (like editor buttons in the text areas).
Some of the broken links will repair themselves soon. There are so many posts that it takes the internal search engine a few days to index everything.

A feature missing from the old version is seeing who liked what in their profile.
Can you see my "likes" if you click here? If not, I'll check the permissions.
Are you getting email notifications after leaving a comment? I received one when you posted your last comment.

A security update was just released for this software. I found out about it within 30 minutes of its release and had the entire website updated within 10 minutes. I think it was offline for only about 3 minutes. The hacking situation has been incredibly difficult, but at least the security updates are now very easy.
I've been making some bug fixes to the site. The quote feature wasn't working and some links were broken. I'll make a few additional design modifications today, and keep posting updates here as things progress.

Sorry for not providing an update in three days. I didn't stop working on the forum, but I started an intensive German language course on Monday. Monday - Thursday is now really busy.
I will be able to work on the forum on the weekends. I'll start with the lists above, but if anyone has any suggestions, please leave suggestions here, whether it's a feature request, or to report a bug or annoyance with the interface. I'll try to get it fixed as soon as possible. :)

I missed this post. I am not able to see your likes, I get an Access Denied. You are not authorized to access this page. And forum notifications are working now. :)
Also, in the forum's previous version, when you were viewing threads by the New Posts link, they would disappear from New Posts once you have read them. Does that make sense? I'm not sure how other people feel about having that feature back, but I quite liked it (it was definitely unusual at first).

The Hostel Wiki is still being rebuilt. There are still some formatting problems on some of the articles. If anyone would like to help clean up the formatting, just let me know. It will take me a bit longer to transfer all the content and get the images back.

One more thing that I'm working on is to separate the hostel jobs into a new section. The hostel jobs will no longer appear in the "New Posts" section, but in their own section. That way, only people who are looking for jobs or employees will see those posts. I'll try to have that done by the weekend.

I removed the hostel jobs posts from the "new posts" section, because there are so many of them. You can now find them in the "Jobs" menu item, or here:

If people prefer it to be setup a different way, just let me know.

The request to extend the session cookie has been added. The site should automatically log people out after 1,000,000 seconds now instead of 200,000. That's more than 11 days. If that isn't enough time, just let me know. :)
