Unfortunately, turning on caching makes the forum a little confusing to use because pages don't always update right away. I'm looking into other ways to optimize the server. For now caching is off again.
Traffic on HostelManagement.com is up, and it has been too much for the current server. I've had to turn on "caching" -- a feature which reduces the load on the databases.
If you notice any strange behavior from the site (inability to login, posts not showing up, or database connection errors), please let me know[/URL] and I'll look into it. It should be fine, but I want to catch any bugs early :)
Thanks,
Josh

Has anyone been getting blank pages or "cannot connect to database" errors?
Yes, yesterday evening.

It failed to connect with the site, or was extremely slow, several times during yesterday (1st).

Sorry about the down time. The hosting company is not telling me the full story of what is wrong with the server so I am going to move the site to a different hosting company ASAP.
It's going to take me at least 24 hours before I can begin a server move because I'm in the middle of a trip back home (writing this from SFO waiting for a connecting flight).
Sorry about that... I hope the server will be fine until then.
