Coming in January 2010: Tripadvisor Business Listings, starting at $600/year:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/BusinessListings

Prices for listings go up to $15,000 per year or more depending on the size of the hotel (by rooms). There is a 50% discount for "introductory rates".

It looks like the accommodation providers pay for the ability to put direct contact information on their Tripadvisor page:

Your phone number

Your e-mail address

Your web site address

I have received several emails from TripAdvisor notifying us about their business listing early this year after claiming my property's listing on their website - not interested and have read their terms and conditions, even when they offer us and other people a limited time business listing that is free for the first month - so expensive, more expensive than purchasing a domain name, developing and marketing a website myself or hiring a website design company to do it. My main website's hosting plan costs $149.95 per year excluding GST with 5 email accounts and other features included.
