Kind of like Easy Hotel. Looks like another chain aiming to go down and competing against hostels. Anybody worried?

Looks like a Japanese Business Hotel and have updated the look of it. These types of hotels are quite common in Japan and quite peacefully coexist with hostels and large hotels. My guess would be that they are targeting the out of town small business man instead of someone backpacking their way across Europe.

£35 per night is pretty cheap. I wonder what the next step for these hotel companies will be after this... start investing in hostels?

I always wonder with these sort of press releases what the real cost of the rooms will be. They always say "With rooms from £35", but there are often many strings about long term advance booking attached. If you could walk up to the hotel on the day and get a £35 room in central London, then I'd say they'll be full every night of the year. And out of business soon, as they wouldn't cover their costs of operation. That's the reason that I don't think they're really any worry for hostels - most hostels price reasonably consistently, with high season surcharges perhaps. So you can walk up and get a reasonably priced bed, while these budget hotels don't operate on this model.
I was in a hotel the other day that had a big sign up outside "Rooms from £29*". People were enquiring about at room in front of me at reception and were told a room was £64.95. They seemed to feel they'd been led astray.
