HW have recently rolled out another new version of their contract. For your convenience, here are the changes.
- The address for the new HW headquarters has been updated. It is now Floor 2, 1 Central Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18.
- Section 7 regarding restricted nations has been removed from the contract entirely.
For reference, here is the section that has been removed:
7. RESTRICTED NATIONS
The Licensee hereby warrants and represents that it is not a national or controlled by a national of Cuba, Iran, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea (each a Restricted Nation) and that the Licensees services are not and will not be situate or delivered in a Restricted Nation. HW hereby reserves the right to add or remove countries from the list that comprises the definition of Restricted Nations from time to time upon the giving of written (including emailed) notice to the Licensee. The Licensee agrees that this Agreement is immediately terminable by HW in the event the Licensee breaches this clause 7.
The rest of my contract remained exactly the same.
My hostel does not use BPO or the HW booking engine, so any changes to the sections relating to those products (Section 10 and Section 11 in this contract) would not appear in my Service Agreement. Hostel operators who do use those services are encouraged to post any changes that may have occurred since the July 2015 version of the contract.
In the future it would be very nice of HW to clearly explain what changes were made when they alter their contracts out of respect for their accommodation partners.
