Upload Your Hostel Photos
There are some new features coming to HostelManagement.com.
One of the current priorities is to finish the "Start a Hostel" guide.
I'm looking for photos of hostel bathrooms, kitchens, common areas, and dorm rooms that would make good examples for new hostels. What works and what doesn't?
If you have some good, clear photos of hostel facilities please upload them to this forum thread and I'll put them in the Wiki guide. They can be from your own hostel or just photos that you have taken of hostels that you like.
To upload photos, just reply to this thread and on the post screen click the "manage attachments" button. The Web page will then display an upload form.
They should be photos that you own the copyright to. Uploading photos in this forum thread for use in the guide will license them under the GNU free documentation license (the same license as Wikipedia content).
Thanks,
Josh

Great idea...
We thought the result would be a little bit more authentic if it would be done by people who know from own experience what a hostel is.
Besides that, hiring students is always a bargain!

I like the idea. Did you just contact a university and ask them to refer some talented students?

Actually, they contacted us and said they have to do a hotel design job as part of their thesis. They designed the lobby of the new Vienna hostel, which was under construction then. It was too late to actually build the lobby according to their plan, but we liked their ideas so much that we asked them if they could help us with our Berlin hostel. They did this just after they finished their school - I guess it was a great way for them to have a reference before they applied for "real" jobs and for us it was... cheap!
Unfortunately they work in design companies all over Germany now and we had to find a different team for our next hostel in Vienna. These ase professionals (thou still ones who know what a hostel is), they are very, very good, too but also pretty expensive. Worth every cent though.
