Hi! I am an aspiring hostel owner. I am a dual US/Colombian citizen, a former electrical engineer, a scientist (PhD in Ecology and Evolution), scuba diving and birdwatching aficionado. I have travelled to 65+ countries and have stayed in dozens, if not hundreds of hostels and boutique hotels around the world.
I want to buy an established hostel or build my own near pristine wilderness. I am interested in buying/building in Colombia (Caribbean or Pacific coast, Guaviare), Indonesia (Bali, Lombok, Raja Ampat), South Africa (Cape Town), or any country rich in biodiversity and lovely scenery (marine and/or terrestrial). The ideal location should have easy access to fun activities for backpackers (e.g., scuba diving, kayaking, surfing, kite surfing, paddle boarding, birdwatching, hiking, tubing, etc). My dream is to build the most sustainable (greenest) and educational hostel in the world.
I am looking for business partners with similar ideas and locations in mind.

HI Federico,
I suggest you take advantage of your dual citizenship. In Colombia you can still find a lot of cheap land in destinations that are not that known turistically, but that in a couple of years will blossom. Check the area around Arboletes Antioquia.
