Hello everyone, Im Canadaian and looking to change my lifestly grind and would love to own a Hostel or Bed and Breakfast? I have alot of energy and like to think Im a fun guy which would thrive in this atmosphere as I've travelled enough to know this is my calling. I've been a Logistics proffesional for 18 years as well a Volunteer firefighter. If I could get some help finding the right place or business I would be so happy, this is my 1rst actual reach out after many years of dreaming.

Welcome. Im in a similar situation - work in QA/WHS but have always kept one toe dipped in hospitality.
At the moment Im favouring places like Costa Rica and Nicaragua because they allow foreign ownership of land and businesses without the need for a local partner

Good day Sean.
In 2006 on a family lot, I build two cabins for hostage. I started from cero because I didn`t know anything about hosteling. Over the years and with the income generated from that activity, built three more cabins. The first name I use was One House Hotel, because I only had one cabin available (the other one was used to live-in). Once I had five (05) units and after creating the gardens and social areas, change the name to cabins Cerro Azul.
We (my wife and I), had a rocket increase in attending clients because there is no hotel or hostel between Bogota and the town of La Calera, which is located at just 22 kilometers from the capital city and it`s a well-known weekend visited town.
Our zone has many outdoor activities as to horseback riding, hang gliding, fishing, bicycling and camping. There`s also a nearby professional golf course and many places to hike or do walking strokes. We are also surrounded by well-known restaurants and mountain bars.
Unfortunately I became ill and had to stop attending as a hostel and turn the property to a small countryside condominium.
We are located half way between Bogota and La Calera, on kilometer 11th on I-50 highway, it`s just a short car drive of maximum 20 minutes from 85th street with 7th avenue (this is very near to the financial, party and gourmet districts of Bogota).
Now we want to sell the property and move on to a hotter climate where I can start to recover my health (in case that`s possible).
The property including our small 4x4 Ford suv and some furniture is worth USD $500.000, we can accept a down payment of 50% (USD$250.000 cash) and the other 50% can be directly finance to a term of up to 20 years.

Im a property developer Brit ? aussie based in Philadand have treaveledin 60+ countries and worked all over the world.
I am looking into investing in offshore property, not so much hostels as small or boutique hotels / Beach community type thing
I'm an ex diving instructor have cash resources , building experiance and but Im looking to develop relationships and see where it goes, maybe work with a partner or 2, for mutual benefit team development. tough to do this sort of thing alone better sharing risk maybe?
I'm interested in coastal beach properties where wages and construction costs for Nice 3 star type cabins wil be low. where the economy is growing, near large markets i.e asia has bigger potential draw than latin america and imminterested in growth so anywhere where the economy is booming and tourism nos are rising.
Im open to many ideas and partnerships especially where i can provide business guidance market development vision and cashresources but share the risk with someone who has experiance on the ground i.e currently looking at a buy into an existing opperation which has good history reputation and is established and making good current returns but with growth potnetial.
Very interested in areas where there is limited land and high demand ever growing, I watched the development of K samui, K tao etc over last 3 years and that growth potentoal is very exciting but brings challenges , plolution on land and in sea, over fishing, over diving, criminality, mafia influences etc etc
Im looking to learn the lessons of other tourisn dev failures through good planning and long term vision based on sound sustainable management and growth envirinmentla and ecological.
My process woiuld be a step by step development starting with <100K but over time as business and relationships develop go upto several 100K & more with other partners I can bring in, sky is the limit if we get the detail , management and buisiness plan right and the project is well resourced.
MY overall goal would be to take a basic opperation in a growing economy, tourism boom area which is clean and mid level and raise its value and income through developing more and higher quality rooms and experiance,

Maybe Carribean
and anywhere where there is a long season and therefore high occupancy rate, ability to own land outright Hard title or equivalent wilth well established enforcable legal structure.
Im not going for the bottom of the market.
