I have been looking at Moscow as a market.
The hotels in Moscow seem to be able to charge what ever they want helping the average rate staying high.
What is happening on the hostel market, why do I see rate of about 18 - 20 € per night in dorms. This is not much less then in Amsterdam, Barcelona ...Is there a demand for Moscow at all? Moscow having only about 10 hostels for such a large city. But maybe there is not enough tourists coming just business people.
Would be great to hear from othery what they think.
As a backpackers scene, Moscow is an important stopover for the Trans Siberian Railway.
Prices are usually high in Moscow as it's one of the most expensive cities on Earth... Surely will be a tourism boost when budget flights will be introduced in Russia.
IMHO, even if there are plenty hostels, you can make good business if you manage yours better. ;)
