Don't think of the way host must be good and give to u everything. You need to come with the bottle of the wine, start the subject with the nice news. it is nice to meet u. i like your country.. sometimes u can be broke, having problems but cook the dinner for the host, try to make a good atmosphere. Never come to someone house for the first time with news: it is too far, taxi is expensive, can I see my room first, i don't have money with me, etc... on this way u are opening negative relationship and it is your fault.
