The USA is continually getting worse. My new passport has an RFID chip in it. Any hacker within several feet of my passport can now use a small device to steal my identity. :confused:

:eek: My UK passport has nearly 6 years to run. Hopefully they will have sorted the problem by then.

Is there any way to protect yourself? Like wrapping your passport in tin foil, for example.

There is an article on how to deactivate it here, but "tampering with a passport is punishable by 25 years in prison. Not to mention the “special” customs search, with rubber gloves."
