Will USA Citizens Stop going to Europe Next Summer

My opinions, not based on known facts.

Because of the rising cost of Jet Fuel, the number of long-haul flights have decreased in the last year. Europeans are staying in Europe and not traveling to South America, Central America and Asia as much, they are taking the LCC Low Cost Carriers around Europe. I see this as increasing in the next year, European Hostel need to concentrate on European guest.

I suspect that many USA backpackers will cancel their trips to Europe next summer.

I suspect the USA backpackers will be looking for Hostels inside the USA.

I suspect the European Backpackers will be looking for Hostels inside Europe.

I know countries like Thailand have already seen the pinch becuase of fuel prices.

I do not know the percentage of USA Backpackers in Europe, I would like to know what percentage drop people anticipate for the coming 2009 summer Backpacker Season.
