Here's another new feature on Hostelworld.com -- "Recently Viewed"
Try it out by visiting a few hostel pages on Hostelworld. Then click the "Recently Viewed" tab to get a features/prices/ratings comparison of all the hostels you visited the pages of. The best part about this feature is that it clearly distinguishes between dorm beds and private rooms -- critically important information for the solo traveler.

"Wombats Bed and Breakfast"? WTF?
I found that while testing out the Hostelworld search feature. I think it could benefit from some work. It doesn't recognize mispellings, alternate spellings, or abbreviations like:
(I was going to write about this in another post -- none of the hostel booking engines that I know of do this yet, and some booking engines don't even have a search box.)
If you type in wombats into the Hostelworld search box:
...it returns Wombats B&B instead of the #1 hostel chain in the world:

Obviously because we use the term "Wombat´s", not Wombats. I will tell them to skip the apostrophe.

The easiest thing for Hostelworld would be to change the search algorithm to ignore apostrophes and punctuation -- or just weigh them lower in the algorithm. That would fix all searches across the site.
Another example -- try searching for arnie's vs. arnies.
If you search for Wombat´s on a German keyboard it won't turn up your hostels either because you use a different kind of apostrophe.
Wombat´s (German keyboard) turns up no results, but Wombat's (US English keyboard) lists your hostels...
