WITH the world financial crisis in full swing, budget accommodation is looking a whole lot more attractive. Certainly, Australia's youth hostel network is booming with the $16 million Brisbane City YHA due for completion next month...Brissie's not the only capital city boasting cool new YHA digs, with the opening of the $14 million Melbourne Central YHA in Flinders Street in April and the $25 million Sydney Harbour YHA - with gob-smacking views of the Opera House from its elevated spot in The Rocks - due to open late 2009.

somehow i doubt YHA spent all that money (which is really what the article is about) because of teh downturn, in fact, had they decided to do it now, i doubt theyd have had access to the cash. taht they committed to such spending a few years ago doesnt mean its boom time now.
