Since opening in January last year, the former Singapore Airlines carrier is popular with business travellers who want proximity to the airport, backpackers after a cheap stay and aero junkies desperate to join the mile-high club without leaving the ground.

The Jumbo's 25 rooms have been booked out, or close to it, since it opened.

Owner and creator Oscar Dios, 37, said once the Swedish prototype was perfected he planned to unveil Jumbo Stays across the globe, including Australia, reports The Herald Sun.

"Australia is definitely in the plan,'' he said.

"I've had meetings and discussions with Australian entrepreneurs who were keen to bring the idea to the east coast, so we're working on it.

"Within five years definitely there will be another 10 Jumbo Stays around the world.''
