Im new to the forum so firstly i just wanted to say its been great reading what you guys have to say. There are some great insights here, so dont hold back on me !!! Ive spent the last two years managing a hostel in panama but ive never started anything myself, thats where i need your help.
The goal is to set up on the montenegran coast. Im starting small but thinking big. The plan is to accomodate 30 - 40 with both dorm rooms, quads and private rooms. I love the feel of slightly smaller hostels where theres a real communal feel.
Im heading to montengro in march and i dont know what to expect.
how easy is it to get a licence?
will the locals be accepting?
is a hostel sustainable with such seasonal tourism?
what pitfalls can i expect?
i know that ill have to integrate as quickly as possible, learning the language!! We had a similar problem in panama, getting the community to accept us but when they saw money coming in they changed very quickly.
lastly i want people to feel warm and cosy when they stay but not feel like they are on top of each other any suggestions for the m2 ill need.
thanks to all of you
