Finding a location for a hostel?

Hi there, I am wondering if some of you have any advice on the best methods of finding somewhere to start a new hostel. Do you think the best way is simply to go around all the real estate agents here and see what sort of locations are available, or are there other methods. How did some of you find a location for your hostels?
