I think if anyone is actually any good at SEO they won't be working at a company. They might not even have any clients, if they are really good.

I've been following the hostel SEO battles for about eight years, so it's interesting to see the ad. I think that SEO was what allowed Hostelbookers to become established at the beginning, where SEO mistakes appeared to deal the final blow to Hostelmania, and are still holding some of the other booking sites back.

It depends... The kind of brain that makes one good at SEO is not necessarily the kind of brain that runs businesses well. Being an entrepreneur requires more than just ranking sites. :)
Hostelworld will have to pay well if they want someone who is good. That should be close to a six figure salary (in USD) if they are serious. I'd expect that they would have recruiters working on contacting top employees from existing SEO companies.

Yes, probably true. As a business though affiliate marketing is probably the easiest way to make money if you have SEO skills. Some people might argue that it hardly constitutes a business, like a hotel/hostel for example.

Affiliate marketing is the one thing I never got into very far, but I probably should have, back when it was easier...

Today, there are lots of SEO companies giving individuals a good opportunity to work with them. However, without knowing their reputation in the market you should not make any decision. If you look around on the internet you will definitely come across the name like Linkshake.co.il etc. who are working in this field since a long time. So you do not have to bother about their genuineness and quality of work they do.
