Hostel toilets/bathroom

Hey guys,

I'm new here and thinking of starting a hostel in a small terrace (2 story house) that is on a main street next to shops.

Problem is that it has 6/7 rooms, a normal bathroom and kitchen. Do you think it is okay to have a large bathroom that anyone from the all the rooms can go and use or is that bad?

I think its easier and cheaper as there are less renovations needed to do that.

What do you all think?

Hi Felix,

To be honest I would think it would depend on the regulations in your area. Most places I know of have regulations governing the number of people that are allowed per toilet/shower/sink etc. You also need to check whether you are required to have your bathrooms separated by gender (where I am, the only unisex bathrooms we are allowed are wheelchair accessible ones.

There's nothing wrong with having communal bathrooms, but you should definitely be checking the regulations.
