Cultural Knowledge Exchange Section

Many people who work at hostels also like to learn languages, or at least pick up some fun phrases that help improve guest services.

This is a new forum section where people can ask questions about foreign languages and cultures. Feel free to try posting in a foreign language, and others will help with corrections.

This section is also for questions and tips about culture. In some countries, there are things that may be different:

• patting children on the head
• slurping or not slurping your food
• touching things with your left hand
• hand gestures
• socially-accepted distance between people when having a conversation
• etc.

It's good to be aware of some of these things... :)
