Cultural Knowledge Exchange Section
Foreign Language and Culture for Hospitality
13 years 10 months ago
Many people who work at hostels also like to learn languages, or at least pick up some fun phrases that help improve guest services.
This is a new forum section where people can ask questions about foreign languages and cultures. Feel free to try posting in a foreign language, and others will help with corrections.
This section is also for questions and tips about culture. In some countries, there are things that may be different:
- patting children on the head
- slurping or not slurping your food
- touching things with your left hand
- hand gestures
- socially-accepted distance between people when having a conversation
- etc.
It's good to be aware of some of these things... :)
If anyone has other ideas for this section, please post a comment below.
