We are 3 friends who started a hostel in the capital city of Ankara, Turkey. We remain inside a 4 star hotel. The first floor belongs to us and we've just completed inner design of rooms. All the stuff is ready right now we are looking for more design ideas like posters, signs. In our hostel part we have 9 rooms turned from a nice hotel room to into hostel rooms. 8-6-4 people rooms are available and we are planning to have a concept for everyroom. Like 8 people hostel dorm concept is cartoons and animes etc. Vintage, western, reggae, middleages concept rooms incoming. We are looking for more ideas and also designs which are nice so that we can print it out and use.We can also design so anything, any comment is appreciated. Thank you guys! :grade:

I find Pinterest a great tool for getting inspiration and ideas.
Just go on there and you can search hostels or bedroom designs or anything really and there will be plenty to look at.
Houzz is very good as well for designs. You should upload some photos here as well of your current designs and it might help others.

This sounds like a really good project! Is the hostel section on the first floor going to operate separately from the rest of the hotel, or is it all one business with a hostel floor?

Are they technically two separate businesses on paper? (Different name, income, expenses, and taxes?) If so, it would be very interesting to see how the two compare at the end of the year, considering that the building and location are exactly the same. (Ex. How does the guest satisfaction, profit margin, etc compare?)

Yes we are two separate partners. We decided that we should stay on the same brand name because they have popularity and well known travel agencies, business partners so it would be nice promotion for us.
We're going on much more teenagers, travelers and Erasmus students. Hotel customer profile much more business people. We have still many things to do but if we compare, in the end hostel business more profitable if you have a nice tourism. But our city which is capital city of Turkey, Ankara has business tourism but also a student tourism. So we are mixing both in a different way. Hostel part if goes good in 6 months we may grow more in the building. Right now we have 38 bed capacity in one floor. Hotel have 36 rooms.

I am intrigued by the idea of a hostel within the same building as a 4-star hotel. Are there any common or shared areas? Is it anticipated that guests from both places will mingle?
