Time needed to clean an 8-bed dorm

Good evening colleagues!

We are trying to improve and increase our standards of cleanliness, for that we are making a list of the minutes needed to properly clean a room (so we can control and demand results from our housekeeping team). What do you think is a prudent time to clean an 8-bed dormitory? (considering move the bunk beds, vacuum and remove dust in addition to changing the bedsheets).

Hi Victoria- You specifically want only the amount of time to take in the one room, correct?
Do you have one cleaner or 2 per room?
How do you make the beds- meaning, do you just put on a bottom sheet, then fold a duvet on top, or do you fully make the beds?
Do you move bunk beds every day? or is that a weekly event? In our hostel, we only move beds once a month, otherwise we use a vacuum hose attachement to get behind bunks.

My example is: with only have 1 cleaner in the room, folding the duvet at the foot of the bed, making all 8 beds, rubbish bins, vacuum with attachment and minor dusting should take 35-45 mins.

What have you found to be your sweet spot and your goal?

What I did to that same improvement was, We set our standards of a sequence of service and then tried it on our own and with one of our best housekeepers and record our time and motion to each procedure then we put the best result to our standard.
