This is a great idea! So easy to lose track of days, months, sometimes countries hehe... parents everywhere will love this =)

I think its a great idea... for some people and especially first-time travellers. I think the parents of most first-timers become a bit concerned when they find out that their child is planning on wandering the earth for a few years. I could bring some peace-of-mind and also gets the parents involved a bit more in their child's travels.
That said, would I bring a tracking device with me now travelling. Don't think so, I'm burdened by enough high-tech stuff as it is. (In my first-time voyage the only electronic device I brought was my watch, now I have the laptop, DSLR camera, Ipod etc)

Yeap. And it (tracking device) can be very small as well. Just inject it under the skin and there you go :D :D
