Hi dear friends,
After i sold my hostel in Malaysia and a long break for 2 years, now thinking to open a new hostel again. (Kinda addicted to this biz)
But this time i like to experiance new country, new things and...
Well,nowadays hostels are every where and some places are just full of hostels with crazy competition.
it's a bit hard to monitor every where in globe to find a perfect spot, where it really needs hostels...
But what do you guys think ?
Except North America, Australia, European countries and Middle East .
can you recommend me a good place to open one???

Welcome back to the biz! It's hard to stay away for too long, isn't it?
This is a really interesting topic that comes up from time to time. Years ago a lot of great suggestions were made in the forum and the hostel wiki, but times change and so do touristic markets.
I’m also curious which areas our community thinks are the up-and-coming (or underserved classic) destinations in need of hostels today.

I've got the 3 months Brazil tourist visa to come and maybe open the new one there.
but there is an big issue ...
invest 150k and hire 10 staff ???
for a middle size of hostel hiring 10 people is not possible ... do you think that there is a way to skip from this part and still get the business visa ?

Would they have to be 10 full time staff, or could you create a bunch of part time positions?

Well, min 3 full time staff is necessary for a hostel if you don't want to be awake 24hrs.
and the company formation or company Secratury who does your bookkeeping and else can creat another 4-5 part time staff for you which is acceptable such as :
accontant - book keeper - finance and ...
So you can always say at the moment you hired 7-8 people including part timers and in the next year you plan to extend and hire more ... :-)

Or hire several part-time receptionists and housekeepers to split up the work with flexible schedules.

it should be very ok, since they didn't mention it must be full time or part time.
I don't think the immigration will have any problem with it since you hired even 6-7 ppl and they earning money from your business for themselves .

Did you find something? We have just started one in Goa. And are looking to start another one in next 6 months at a very important location in India. Lets see if we can collaborate?
