China's Cancer Villages

I almost ended up in China on this trip and was a little worried about the pollution there.

I just read an interesting article about China's cancer villages -- places where up to 4 out of 5 people die of cancer.

Has anyone been to China? I've only seen photos of the air pollution, and heard stories about it.
