My understanding is that you should never store the CVC code, which means HW/HB cannot provide it to you. Maybe check with your card provider to see if you can override the CVC requirement for certain types of transactions.
CVC codes with hostelworld and hostelbookers.com
General Hostel Operations
I have noticed that with most booking engines we recieve customers CVC code etc. along with their dredit card details upon receip of their booking. However this is not true of hostelwolrd.com and hostelbookers. In Portugal we cannot charge without these details. Does anyone know of the procedure for charging for the first night 'no-shows' with these engines?

I also have a big problem with this. The banks here do not allow me to do credit card authorisations without CVC code. So, with Hostelworld I hiave no way to protect myself against non-shows, which happend often by the way. Booking.com does not have that problem,, so what is the issue with Hostelworld. Basially, I cannot accept any of their bpokings any more as they (Hostelworld) take their money (not problem getting the CVC code for themselves) but do not offer any way for me to take my payment.
How are others dealing with this?
