Hey, I am thinking the same thing and have the same goal. My name is Jordan, I'm from Canada. I am living in Antigua, Guatemala right now and am hoping to start something somewhere in Central or South America as well. I would like to chat with you more about this if you have the time.

Greeting, I see you are of the same mindset. Central America. I am also in contact with another guy who needs to be in central America as well.
Tell me more about what you are considering? What you would like to operate/own.
Tell me a bit about you. Tell me, Have you found any interesting properties there? I may take a look and see what I can find, then you can pop by and check it out ..if that works for you? How long are you in Antigua for? Are you on an unlimited budget?
I have been actively searching for a property either Hotel; Hostel; Resort or similar somewhere in Latin America.
I now operate a small Hostel in New Brunswick, Canada (manager looks after things there now) I also have apartments (18) and rooms (28) for students and others. This is all in NB. However I live in BC on Vancouver Island. Here I have a rooming house and an office building with two units. As well as a cottage in Alberta which is on 80 acres; and in BC the house I live in. I would love to have a place in the tropics, to operate part of the year. I have also considered Zanzibar in Tanzania; Uruguay in SA and the Philippines. However I am learning Spanish so Latin America fits.
