The problem has gotten much worse, but it´s right that the American media is turning it into a "war against..." thing - like always.

"Nowadays you do hear about an infestation once in a while." But media have transmogrified a mundane factual story — in which bedbugs have been a problem for some people, but nobody knows for sure whether the problem is worse — into exciting horror fare.

It seems every time a traveler or potential traveler looks to book a hotel they come across news articles and televised travel alerts about the perils of bed bugs both in hotel room accommodations and even back at home. Should fear of bed bugs in motel and hotel rooms and lodgings be an issue to prevent your vacation or business travels or not?
