Our new hostel rating criteria, a first look and much more functionality to be added in future releases but here is the introductory article

It's great that you're trying to personalize the review system. I particularly like that you ask which type of backpacker the hostel is best suited for. This is really a valuable addition to the reviews.

Now we ask what sort of backpacker do you think would suit this hostel; and you can select as many as you wish:

* Looking for a quiet stay
* Party animals
* Looking to hook up
* Backpacking couples
* Budget conscious backpackers
* Security conscious backpackers
* Flashpackers
* Looking for a smaller hostel
* Looking for a big hostel

Hi Brian, still early days and thank you for the encouragement, the type of backpacker we want to expand on and this is defiantly a section of the review process that needs more work. We are thinking of changing it to check boxes so we can include more options while still keeping to a compact layout. Another function we will add a little later is free tagging suggestion, so people can submit there own ideas on suitability.

I think we defiantly need to add 'first time backpacker' and 'seasoned traveller' to the list.

I think that would be better, because you may very well fit multiple catagories.

Again, that would be a great addition! You might add small or large groups, hen/stag parties, families, job or apartment seekers... It would be easy to fill an entire page with options though, so maybe it's best to keep it limited.
