If you could describe the tourism market, would you agree with the following descriptions?
Backpackers are:
-Traveling individually or small groups,
-Traveling on a low-budget for a long term (3-6+ months),
-Their significant luggage is backpack, which is usually large, contains all set of clothes for a long term journey.
- Usually stays in hostels, or any other low-budget facilities,
- Itinerary is flexible, trips can be extended regarding destinations,
-Usually heading from the expensive to the cheaper countries,
-Using budget & flexible transportation (less flights, more trains or buses)
-Mostly sightseeing individually, usually on foot,
-Taxis are barely used,
-Try to get the local specialities on their own.
-Barely using packaged services.
Flashpackers are:
-Traveling individually or small groups, sometimes organised big groups,
-Traveling on a mid-budget for a short or mid term (weekends, few weeks or months),
-Their significant luggage is a a small or mid size suitcase, contains some casual clothes as well,
- Prefer to stay in upmarket-hostels, or any standard hotels,
- Itinerary is mostly fixed, trips can be hardly extended,
-Country preference is mostly for the popular, posh or special,
-Using budget, but comfortable transportation (more flights, less trains or buses)
-Can be sightseeing on foot or by a tour,
-Taxis could be regularly used,
-Try to get the local specialities on their own or organised.
-Often using packaged services.
Holiday travellers are:
-Traveling organised by an agency, small groups or big groups,
-Traveling on high-budget for a short term (weekends or few weeks),
-Their significant luggage is a small or mid size suitcase, contains some casual clothes as well,
- Usually stays in 4-5 star hotels, or any high-budget facilities,
- Itinerary is fixed, trips are almost never extended,
-Usually visit only few destinations with fixed itinerary,
-Using fixed and comfortable transportation (almost always flights)
-Usually sightseeing by organised tours,
-Taxis are used almost all time,
-Try to get the local specialities by packaged services.
-Mostly using fully-covered packaged services.
