The first time you’re asked not to flush your toilet paper down the toilet in an unfamiliar place you may feel both confused and revolted. The confusion as to WHY you shouldn’t flush it passes quickly (the plumbing and/or sewer system can’t handle the load). Then confusion as to WHEN you shouldn’t flush it may stick with you as long as you travel.

Same with the oposite. Generally even the restrooms where you can flush down the paper still have a small bin (guess for dental cream disposal, something like that). First time I was in Germany I had no doubt to put the paper in there.
Just to get acknowledged by the host the other day ehhe, that I should flush the paper down the toilet. It's quite weird at first I must admit, but you get used quickly. It's hard to get used the other way round afterwards.... :D

Out of burning curiousity i had to check out what it said about the USA. I used Greece as my 'control' as i'm absolutely certain of the custom there so i figured if it was right they'd get the USA right.
To my surprise it said something about 'rumors of grottier places in the USA using bins'. REALLY? i've been to about 40 states and bins are only used for 'feminine products' ...now who do i contact to put right this wrong? LOL. LOL.
