Fly New York to London in 45 Minutes Only a Few Years Away
Interesting article about super-fast space travel between NY and London:

Passengers will be able to fly through space from London to New York in 45 minutes by the middle of the next decade, experts believe.
Sydney could be only two and a half hours away and it could take less time to get to Tokyo than it does to take a train from London to Manchester.
...
At this point the aircraft – possibly holding around seven passengers – would be flying at just over 260,000 feet, or around eight times the altitude of a normal aircraft.
It would also reach speeds of more than 4,600 miles an hour – more than three times the speed of Concorde.
