Following up on my first blog post on 10 Free Places to List Your Hostel Online, I've just written another post with 10 more directories where you can add your hostel(s).

I would like to open an extra thread about this!
to make your life easier, you can just use the mayor web sites like: HW, HB and Booking.com, Venere.com if u can get inside.
Other sites are waste of your time. Do you agree with me?!
Only what can be extra useful to you is local sites... like bbplanet in italy, etc.. tripadvisor is also waste...

I think that HW and other are just a way to waste your money Marco.
I know why a lot of people like services like HW ... but everybody who tell smth like Marco helps HW to be the monopoly (much more than they are today).
As a businessmen ... if HW or another company has 90-95% of the world market the day will come where hostel owners have to pay 15, 20, or 25% ... 8 years ago for example HB doesn't exist. And just because people thought that HB isn't a way to waste time Marco speaks also about this company today, and not just HW.
I think that you have to "waste" time also on other sites to protect your income, to protect your business. If you do not invest time into other sites you will burn your money. What was the price for HW? 350 Million Euro ... and just because of people like you Marco ... all income from HW (net profit app. 18 Million Euro a year) is generated by you. Take a look into your HW stats ... and you see ... loose time, or loose money.
By the way... I had an own hostel in the past, and I do not speak only as someone who has one of the sites where Marco thinks to "waste" his time.

great debate. i do follow u! i am against everybody having Microsoft Windows. More the same products, less prices.
you can make your own market:
1. flayers, wall flayers
2. get partners in near cities. u recommend them / they recommend u
3. message boards
4. publications, tourist guide books
5. web sites... all tip and tricks
6. ...
but when u work with agent like HW.... your business works! that is what u looking for?! How long HW will live? I do not care... I know everybody wants peace of it... competition is everywhere
i do not like big corporations, as they are untouchable. but to day make your life easier. u do not need 10 credit card. get only proper one

I noticed that you have forgotten BUG. We've been around since 1997 and were the very first hostel review site.
Our goal is to list every single hostel (although we do have a few missing, especially in Africa and Asia). Let us know if your hostel isn't on our site.
