German Tourist Board targets young travelers
GNTB targets youth, unveils Aus agency
The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) has realized the importance of young travelers, and will launch a campaign to attract them as part of their 2013 theme: ‘Germany for young people – vibrant, fashionable, innovative.’
“Young people visiting from abroad today are Destination German’s future holidaymakers and business travellers," Mr Hedorfer said.
"They are becoming an ever more important target group, especially as domestic tourism will be increasingly affected by demographic change.”
Actually, young people visiting from abroad are already Germany’s holidaymakers!
The GNTB says that the best way to communicate with these young travelers is through social media channels. They want to promote Germany’s ‘diverse culture and rich food and wine scene.’
“To heighten exposure and develop the new campaign, GNTB has partnered with international providers of group travel for young people, youth hostels, hotels and city centre information centres.
GNTB also opened a new representative office in Australia and has appointed award-winning Australian agency, Gate 7, as its new promotional arm in Australia.”
Germany sees Australia as a particularly important target market for tourism. I think we can all understand that!
