My guests give me small gifts too.
Sometimes I give the gifts to my guests I worked as a representative before so the gifts always make the people happy if they are away from their home .
With the holidays upon us I was thinking about what kind of nice things we could do for our guests who are away from home and their families. Do you give your guests gifts for the holidays?
What kind of presents are both affordable and appreciated? I was thinking of little things like a baggy full of sweets. If I had thought ahead I could have made luggage tags, keyrings, or something else useful. Branded merchandise from the hostel would probably be appreciated, but too expensive depending on how many guests you have. A decorated drink voucher could go over well. Do you give something else really cool that people enjoy?
Do you tell your guests about it, or just surprise them with a gift?
We have organized a gift exchange with our guests, which normally goes over really well. The whole team gets involved too. We haven't run into the situation yet, but what would you do about late arrivals who show up just in time to see everyone else bonding but can’t participate? Would you buy extra gifts to have on hand for them to contribute? Would you send them off quickly to find something themselves? Would they just stay outside of the group and watch the show?
Do you do something else to celebrate the holidays with your guests?

There is a local custom of having children clean their shoes and put them in the window at night so that they can be filled with candy. Getting our guests involved in this kind of thing is fun for them. Plus it helps to promote the local culture as well as getting them to clean their shoes :)
