Just been doing some searching for alternatives to HW, booking, HB etc...you, know, for all the usual reasons we don't need to go into again!
Came across the "Go Around Europe" network of hostels who charge guests a membership fee and in return hostels that are part of the network give the guest a 10% discount when they book direct and show their membership card at check-in. Great in my opinion!
A few others I have come across with similar set-ups are "Balkans Best Hostels" and "Europe's Famous Hostels" and obviously "HI" too.
Does anybody know of any other well established international networks worth looking into?

There's another network called The Balkan Backpacker that operates in the Balkans.

At one point there was a group called Backpackers United trying to network between all of the hostel networks. Their site isn't up to date, but there are still links to other networks and organizations.
