I am applying to a self employment program in Saskatchewan with hopes on starting a hostel in Saskatoon. To obtain my required funding I have to do some research. This research is difficult for me because there are no other hostels in Saskatoon, so I have to search broader to get the information I need. The information I need from hostel owners and managers is simple. I just need, whether or not you had education relating to the type of work you do (either hostel owner or manager), what kind of education it was(what school or what kind of school) and a rough salary estimate (if you feel comfortable giving that info only). it takes no degree, but business savvy helps. savvy- a deep, thorough understanding of what you are trying to do. (provide a place for people to stay and MAKE MONEY while doing it). some people will have special needs, early arrival, late departure, man and wife want private rooms, family with a child or two... it won't always be 3 college guys waking to Athabaska from Charlottown!
