Hi all

After traveling around 5 continents ,I finally settled (or at least that’s what i thought) in Colombia,South America since 2011..As in every traveler’s dream I want to set up a hostel and in Portugal ,would like to connect with any Portugal hostel owners or experts for the following

1, I have thought about Lisbon and Porto

2, Would like to set up a hostel with an in-house restaurant so a two or three story building would work

3, Open to buy an existing one or start a new one (not looking for any profits right away, has to make enough to at least pay 5 employees and maintenance )

4, How much would the rent be for a 30-40 bed hostel

5, Initial set up costs ?? (if it is a new one)

I have no financial commitments and have some passive income coming in which will support me in the initial stage of the hostel business

Hi Vincent , Did you set up in Lisbon in the end ?

Hi , not yet .I was there last month and i was told setting up a new one is next to impossible in Lisbon due to permit issues and existing ones are being sold at a very high price with very low returns so I am looking at other cities like Porto etc
